ALGIERS- The Moroccan regime, more than ever, is facing significant challenges due to corruption, mismanagement of social affairs, and betrayal of the Palestinian cause by King Mohammed VI and his court. In a striking display of discontent, thousands of teachers took to the streets in Agadir on Wednesday to protest against the privatization of education, ordered by Prime Minister Aziz Akhanouch, an oligarch and a close associate of King Mohammed VI.

The privatization measures are being implemented under the guise of a deceptive reform that has failed to deceive anyone. This has led to the massive and unprecedented nature of the protest. Slogans such as “No to the sell-off of public education for the benefit of oligarchs and the comprador bourgeoisie in Morocco” adorned signs carried by demonstrators. Notably, even the police protected and facilitated the march, indicating that security forces inevitably side with the angered people when it comes to the future of their children.

It’s worth noting that this socio-economic protest quickly expanded to encompass political and geostrategic issues. Protesters denounced King Mohammed VI’s betrayal of the Palestinian cause, expressing unwavering support for it. This further highlights the growing gap between the Makhzen (Moroccan political elite) and the Moroccan people, leading to the inevitable collapse of this corrupt, dictatorial, and predatory regime.
