These include an updated feasibility study contract, a compensation contract, and a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) between the energy corporations of the three nations. “The signing of these agreements demonstrates our collective determination to make the Trans-Saharan Gas Pipeline a reality, serving the strategic interests of our nations and our continent,” declared Arkab, emphasizing Algeria’s leadership in the project. Nigeria’s Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Ekperikpe Ekpo, echoed these sentiments, emphasizing that the TSGP has now entered its implementation phase. “This project, which has been in the planning stages for some time, is finally moving towards realization. The three nations have actively engaged in task force discussions, and today’s agreements validate our commitment,” he declared.

Ekpo highlighted the TSGP’s potential to drive economic diversification across Africa. “This project will not only transform our energy sector but also reshape the livelihoods of millions across the continent. It is imperative that we first harness this gas resource to develop our economies before exporting it to external markets,” he asserted.
