It is, indeed, expected to transform the international airport of Annaba into a real air transport hub in the east of the country with the commissioning of these new infrastructures.
Annaba Airport “Rabah BITAT” is one of the oldest Algerian airports, since it was put into operation in 1939.
The airport has two runways. The first, in asphalt, with a length of 3,000 m and the second, in bituminous concrete, with a length of 2,290 m.
The terminal underwent renovation and expansion works which began in 2007 and ended in December 2015. The new terminal was inaugurated on March 9, 2016. The new terminal is intended to handle a flow of 700,000 passengers/year.
