Highlighting the existing “relations of friendship” between the two countries and their shared heritage, Ambassador Goktas expressed her aspirations for enhanced collaboration within the framework of a fruitful and privileged partnership. The ambassador also emphasized the need to strengthen the role of parliamentary groups focused on brotherhood and friendship to further fortify the partnership between Turkey and Algeria. She noted the positive outcomes of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune’ state visit to Turkey, which resulted in the signing of several agreements spanning various sectors.
In response, APN Speaker Boughali congratulated the Turkish people on the re-election of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and extended his best wishes to Ambassador Goktas in her future endeavors. Speaker Boughali also echoed the sentiment of friendship and expressed his desire to promote joint actions that would fulfill the aspirations of both countries for greater cooperation within their fruitful and privileged partnership.
Turkey’s aim to double the value of trade exchange with Algeria signifies the importance the nation places on economic relations in the region. The potential benefits of increased trade between these two countries extend beyond mere economic gains. Enhanced cooperation can pave the way for strengthened cultural ties, increased people-to-people exchanges, and mutually beneficial investments. Moreover, a free trade agreement would create a conducive environment for businesses in both countries, facilitating the exchange of goods and services while removing barriers to trade.
The realization of a $10 billion trade volume between Turkey and Algeria would mark a significant milestone in the bilateral relationship, signaling deeper economic integration and a stronger foundation for long-term collaboration. By capitalizing on their shared history, cultural ties, and geographical proximity, both countries can unlock the full potential of their economic partnership and create lasting benefits for their respective peoples.
