Algiers, Algeria | April 20th, 2025 — Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hakan Fidan, officially inaugurated the new headquarters of the Consulate General of Turkey in Oran on Sunday. The ceremony marked a milestone in Turkish-Algerian relations and underscored the strategic importance of Algeria’s western capital as a gateway for regional cooperation.

Held under heightened diplomatic protocol, the event brought together Algeria’s Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Lounès Magramane, and Oran’s Wali, Samir Chibani, among other dignitaries, signaling the high-level commitment shared by both nations.

In his address during the inauguration, Minister Fidan stressed that the opening of the Consulate General in Oran was far more than a symbolic gesture—it was a calculated step within the broader framework of Turkey’s proactive foreign policy and economic diplomacy.

“The establishment of this consulate will further consolidate the solid and historic relations between our two friendly and brotherly nations,” Fidan declared. “It also reflects Turkey’s firm intention to deepen economic cooperation across this strategically vital region of Algeria.”
