Turkey Supports Algeria’s Efforts at United Nations Security Council Regarding Gaza Ongoing Genocidal War

ALGIERS- The President of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Grand National Assembly of the Republic of Turkey, Fuat Oktay, has expressed Turkey’s support for Algeria’s efforts as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council to halt Zionist massacres against the population of Gaza.
Following his meeting with Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, Mr. Oktay stated that Turkey stands in solidarity with Algeria’s initiatives aimed at securing an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Gaza. He conveyed messages from Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on this matter and emphasized their shared commitment to resolving the crisis.
Highlighting the common objective shared by Algeria and Turkey, Mr. Oktay underscored the need to end Zionist atrocities, achieve a ceasefire, continue humanitarian aid delivery, promptly implement decisions of the International Court of Justice, hold perpetrators of war crimes accountable—led by Benjamin Netanyahu—and work towards a peaceful and definitive resolution that guarantees the recognition of a free and independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
Addressing bilateral cooperation, Mr. Oktay emphasized the significance of the audience granted by President Tebboune, emphasizing the role of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey in fostering diplomatic ties. He recalled the agreements signed during reciprocal presidential visits, which have facilitated collaboration between business leaders and civil society from both nations to materialize these agreements.
Furthermore, Mr. Oktay reaffirmed the commitment of both countries to achieving a bilateral trade volume of $10 billion in the future across all sectors.
This affirmation of support from Turkey adds momentum to Algeria’s diplomatic efforts on the international stage and underscores the importance of collective action in addressing humanitarian crises and promoting peace and stability in the region.
