Turkish Company “ETI Bakir” Explores Partnership Opportunities in Algeria’s Energy, Mines Sector

ALGIERS – ETI Bakir, a Turkish company and subsidiary of Cengiz Holding, has expressed its interest in investing in Algeria through partnerships in the energy and mines sector.

The Minister of Energy and Mines, Mohamed Arkab, met with Mr. Seraf Cengiz, the president of the Turkish company. During the meeting, discussions focused on business and investment opportunities across various branches of the energy sector in Algeria. The talks particularly highlighted potential collaboration in industrial energy and mining infrastructure, as well as renewable energy projects.

Arkab presented the sector’s development strategy, emphasizing the promotion of investments in various areas, including new and renewable energies. He underscored the significant investment and cooperation potential in research, exploration, exploitation, and the processing of ferrous and non-ferrous mineral resources. This potential is explored within the framework of the conducive investment climate provided by the new investment law.

The minister also highlighted the existing relationships between Algerian and Turkish companies in the energy and mines sector.

Mr. Cengiz expressed “great interest” from Cengiz Holding and its subsidiaries in investing in Algeria. He specifically mentioned interest in the exploitation and transformation of mineral resources, renewable energies, as well as on-site infrastructure development and equipment manufacturing through partnership projects.

In the pursuit of these investment opportunities, a preliminary meeting took place between Cengiz Holding representatives and officials from the mining sector to further discussions and identify concrete projects in the mining field.
