UK Ambassador Sharon Anne Wardle Praises Minister Aoun’s Efforts to Strengthen Healthcare in Algeria

ALGIERS- During the announcement of the launch of five new medications by AstraZeneca over the next five years in Algeria this morning, UK Ambassador Sharon Anne Wardle commended the efforts of Minister Aoun in reinforcing the importance of healthcare in Algeria. She acknowledged Minister Aoun’s ambition to further improve access to healthcare for Algerians, a goal shared by the UK Embassy, as well as Sweden and AstraZeneca.
AstraZeneca has announced a $30 million investment and has committed to achieving a negative carbon footprint impact by 2030. Today, the group is advancing its expansion and localization plan, recognizing the Algerian pharmaceutical industry’s capability to produce high-quality medications. This initiative reflects AstraZeneca’s longstanding commitment to strengthening the healthcare system and patient health in Algeria by facilitating access to vital medications.
