Algiers, Algeria | May 28, 2024 — The United Nations Security Council has convened an emergency meeting at the request of Algeria to address the recent Zionist airstrike on a displacement camp in Rafah that resulted in 45 deaths and 249 injuries. This session comes amidst growing international condemnation and demands for a ceasefire, which Zionist Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has yet to implement.

Palestinian authorities condemned the strike as a deliberate act against civilians. The Palestinian Ministry of Health highlighted that the attack disproves Zionist claims of safe zones within Gaza. The Hamas resistance movement has called for widespread protests in response.
International bodies and leaders have demanded thorough investigations. UN Middle East envoy Tor Wennesland urged the Zionist entity to conduct a “complete and transparent” investigation and implement measures to protect civilians.
