ALGIERS- The Director General of Employment and Integration at the Ministry of Labour, Employment, and Social Security, Mohamed Charaf-Eddine Boudiaf, said on Monday that the total number of beneficiaries of the unemployment allowance reached 1,929,000 until April 2023.
Guest of the Algerian Radio Forum, Mr. Boudiaf specified that nearly 20,000 beneficiaries of this allowance (15,000 dinars/month) had been inserted into the world of work in the public and private sectors, underscoring the continuation of this operation.
“Additionally, 102,000 educational training spaces have been made available so that they can obtain the necessary skills and credentials,” the official said.
And to add that 102,000 educational training places have been provided to enable them to acquire the skills and qualifications in the trades, facilitating their integration into the world of work.
He recalled that first-time job seekers are eligible for unemployment allowance, which are meant to support them until they locate positions that meet their qualifications.
In this regard, he emphasized the importance of creating a digital platform to improve coordination between the various sectors involved, particularly the sectors of education and vocational training, for the operation’s success.
Regarding employment policy, Mr. Boudiaf stated that the National Employment Agency (ANEM) functions as “a main axis” within the context of the strategy for coordination between the various sectors, highlighting the significance of digitization for streamlining this process.
The speaker mentioned the aid program for graduates’ professional integration and said that a larger group of people had been impacted by the operation of definitive integration into the workforce.
