Algiers- Algeria, May 6, 2024 – During a parliamentary session on employment policy in Algeria on Monday, Minister of Labor Mr. Fayçal Bentaleb reported that over 2 million young people have benefited from the unemployment allowance since its inception under President Abdelmadjid Tebboune.
Mr. Bentaleb also emphasized that more than 400,000 young beneficiaries of this program will soon be employed in positions created through this initiative.
“The implementation of this program by the state has provided over 2 million unemployed youth with support, in line with President Tebboune’s commitment to reform Algeria’s employment policy to address the needs of both youth and employers,” he stated. He added, “Employment is closely tied to economic development, which is why the state is dedicated to enhancing its employment policy, along with measures to raise salaries and improve citizens’ purchasing power.”
Additionally, Minister Bentaleb highlighted Algeria’s significant progress in digitizing services, stating, “These efforts have earned international recognition, and Algeria is now ranked fifth globally in terms of digitalization.”
