United Arab Emirates Congratulates Algeria on its Election to Security Council

ALGIERS- In a cordial exchange, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) extended heartfelt congratulations to Algeria on its election to the United Nations Security Council as a non-permanent member. Foreign Minister Ahmed Attaf of Algeria received a phone call from Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the UAE, as confirmed by a statement from the Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
During the conversation, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed conveyed his personal greetings and those of the entire UAE royal family to President Abdelmadjid Tebboune. He warmly commended Algeria on its successful election and expressed sincere wishes for the country’s accomplishments in its upcoming mandate within this vital organ of the United Nations.
Furthermore, the Emirati Foreign Minister expressed his nation’s willingness to share its valuable experiences, particularly since Algeria will succeed the United Arab Emirates on the Security Council starting from January next year.
In response, Minister Ahmed Ataf expressed sincere gratitude for the unwavering support Algeria’s candidacy received from their esteemed counterparts in the UAE. He appreciated the Emirati brothers’ willingness to share their extensive knowledge and expertise gained during their own two-year term on the Security Council.
Minister Ataf emphasized Algeria’s commitment to becoming a worthy successor and ensuring the continuation of the Council’s noble work. Algeria aims to champion and defend the issues and priorities of the Arab nation, thereby effectively representing the interests of the region.
