Unprecedented Incident in Bordeaux: Mouse Falls on Head of Moroccan MP, Radio Station Temporarily Closes

Algiers, Algeria | November 22nd, 2024 — An unusual and unexpected incident occurred at Bordeaux FM, located in the town of Saint-Médard-en-Jalles near Bordeaux, France, when a mouse fell from the ceiling onto the head of a Moroccan Member of Parliament who was appearing as a guest on a live radio show. The mouse also landed on the head of another high-ranking official, a representative from the Moroccan Ministry of Youth, who was also present at the time.
In the aftermath of this strange and unprecedented event, Bordeaux FM made the decision to temporarily shut down its studios, citing “public safety, hygiene, and the diplomatic nature of the incident” as reasons for the closure. The radio station’s management urged the local authorities in Saint-Médard-en-Jalles to issue a statement to address the concerns raised by the visiting Moroccan delegates, who departed with a negative perception of the city.
According to Hélène Costa, the Deputy Mayor of Saint-Médard-en-Jalles, the building housing the radio station is scheduled for demolition soon, as plans are in place to replace it with social housing. Given this impending redevelopment, the building will not undergo any renovations or repairs, further complicating the situation.
