ALGIERS- The Critical Diseases Research and Treatment Institute (Radiner) of Vietnam and the Saidal Group, an Algerian pharmaceutical company, have inked a significant cooperation agreement, marking a milestone in healthcare collaboration between the two nations.
Led by Radiner’s General Director, Dr. Nguyen Phu Kieu, a delegation from Vietnam embarked on a working visit to Algeria from February 27 to March 8. During the visit, they introduced Radiner’s range of drug products, notably Cedemex, a drug supporting drug addiction treatment; Vegakiss, an herbal-based product enhancing immunity and resistance; and Kacemex, an herbal medicine aiding cancer treatment.
Cedemex, researched since 2000 and approved by Vietnam’s National Council for Science and Ministry of Health, has demonstrated promising results. Reports from various localities in Vietnam indicate a non-relapse rate after three years of 56%, with a 100% success rate in drug addiction treatment in rehabilitation centers.
Dr. Kieu highlighted that Cedemex has been instrumental in treating over 20,000 drug-addicted patients in Vietnam, as well as being utilized in Laos and Cambodia. During the visit, doctors and medical personnel in Algiers received instruction on the proper usage of Cedemex for treating drug addiction.
Under the cooperation agreement, Radiner grants Saidal exclusive importing and distributing rights for Vegakiss products in Algeria and Africa. Saidal plans to import 100,000 boxes of Vegakiss in 2024, with intentions to quadruple the quantity by 2026.
Regarding Cedemex, Radiner and its Algerian partner are collaborating to obtain usage permits in Algeria. A distribution cooperation agreement for Cedemex is also in the pipeline.
This export agreement marks a significant achievement for Vietnam’s healthcare sector, showcasing international recognition for Vietnamese pharmaceutical products. Moreover, it strengthens the friendship between Vietnam and Algeria across political and economic domains.
Looking ahead, Radiner aims to further promote the export of medical products to Algeria and other African nations. Additionally, research collaborations on drug formulation and medical products with partners from China and Australia are on the horizon, underscoring Vietnam’s commitment to advancing healthcare on a global scale.
