Algeria, March 05, 2024 – The Trade Office of Vietnam in Algeria, in collaboration with the Bab Ezzouar Commercial Centre in Algiers, organized a special event on Sunday to introduce Vietnamese coffee products to Algerian consumers.
The event provided a platform for visitors and local consumers to immerse themselves in the rich flavors and unique qualities of Vietnamese coffee. Attendees had the opportunity to learn about the coffee processing methods, sample different varieties of Vietnamese coffee, and gain insights into the coffee culture of Vietnam.
Highlighting the importance of the event, the Trade Office of Vietnam in Algeria displayed catalogs and sample products from Vietnamese businesses, facilitating connections with potential customers and partners. This initiative aimed to promote Vietnamese coffee products and strengthen trade relations between Vietnam and Algeria.
The Bab Ezzouar Commercial Centre, serving as the venue for the event, is the largest shopping mall in Algeria, boasting a vast area encompassing various stores, offices, and a hypermarket. With its extensive reach and diverse consumer base, the commercial center provided an ideal setting to showcase Vietnamese coffee to a wide audience.
Algeria represents a significant market for Vietnamese coffee, with annual imports exceeding US$300 million. Vietnamese Robusta green coffee beans, in particular, have garnered popularity in Algeria, constituting a significant portion of the country’s coffee imports.
This event follows a similar promotional initiative undertaken by the Trade Office of Vietnam in December 2023 at the Carrefour hypermarket, another major distribution system in Algeria. The successful promotion of Vietnamese coffee and tra (pangasius) fish at Carrefour underscored the growing interest and demand for Vietnamese agricultural products in the Algerian market.
As Vietnam continues to expand its presence in Algeria’s coffee industry, initiatives like these play a vital role in raising awareness, fostering partnerships, and driving growth in bilateral trade between the two nations. The event at Bab Ezzouar Commercial Centre signifies a step forward in Vietnam’s efforts to capture new markets and showcase the quality and diversity of its coffee products on the global stage.
