ALGIERS- After weeks of suspense, the Algerian Football Federation (FAF) officially announced on Thursday the name of the coach who will succeed Djamel Belmadi as the head of the technical staff of the national football team.
Indeed, Bosnian coach Vladimir Petković has been selected by the FAF to lead the Algerian team.
According to a statement released by the FAF on its official website, the new coach is expected to arrive in Algiers next Sunday. The former coach of Switzerland will hold a press conference on Monday.
Petković, with an extensive coaching experience, notably with the Swiss national team, brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his new role with the Algerian squad. The decision to appoint Petković marks the end of weeks of speculation and anticipation among Algerian football fans, who have been eagerly awaiting news about the new head coach.
