ALGIERS- In a heartfelt message recorded on January 8, 2024, Wael Al-Dahdouh, the courageous Palestinian journalist from Al Jazeera, conveyed his gratitude to Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune and the Algerian people. The emotional message followed President Tebboune’s condolences to Al-Dahdouh and his family after the tragic assassination of his son, Hamza Wael Al-Dahdouh, in Gaza.
Expressing his thanks “personally” and on behalf of his family, fellow journalists, and the Palestinian people, Wael Al-Dahdouh lauded President Tebboune for his “noble attention,” referring to the condolence message. Al-Dahdouh emphasized the deep connection between the Palestinian and Algerian people, describing them as one united people bound by a common cause. He expressed hope for a meeting soon, either in Algeria or liberated Al Quds.
The Palestinian journalist concluded his message by invoking Allah’s blessings upon President Tebboune for his tireless efforts in advocating for and aiding the Palestinian people. Al-Dahdouh warmly greeted the “beloved Algerian people,” acknowledging the shared solidarity between the two nations.
This poignant message underscores the profound bonds of empathy and support that connect the Palestinian and Algerian people, reflecting a shared commitment to justice and freedom.
