ALGIERS– President Tebboune warned against “militias hostile to Algeria who do not digest the country’s principled positions towards the oppressed”.

“We are on the lookout for any attempts targeting the country. Parties wishing to attack Algeria are resorting to parties inside the country, exploiting a few Algerian citizens who have sold their homeland and sworn loyalty to foreign embassies”, he underlined during a periodic interview with representatives of the national media, broadcast Friday evening.

Indeed, “the task of targeting Algeria from the outside remains difficult, given the strength and resilience of our country in the face of the crises,” explained the President of the Republic.

“Algeria is targeted from all sides because it is a country that does not accept submission and the Algerian citizen is proud of his State which advances with its head held high among the nations”, he argued.

Affirming, in another context, that the press was “a powerful tool for anchoring democracy and fighting against attempts targeting Algeria”, he called on Algerian journalists to “impose themselves” and unmask attempts of exploitation orchestrated from abroad.
