Western Sahara team to play friendly matches, being platform to raise awareness about just Sahrawi cause

ALGIERS- The Ambassador of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic to Algeria, Abdelkader Taleb Omar, delivered a speech on Thursday in the auditorium of the “5 July 1962” stadium, announcing the establishment of his country’s national football team. The Ambassador expressed his gratitude to Algeria for inspiring the creation of the team, citing the success of the “Liberation Front” football team, which was established in April 1958 and played a significant role in promoting the Algerian cause and exposing the crimes of French colonialism.

The Western Sahara team aims to follow in the footsteps of the Liberation Front team by working towards the liberation of their country and exposing the crimes of the Moroccan occupier. The Ambassador extended his thanks to Algeria for hosting and supporting just humanitarian causes and to the management of the Mouloudia Club of Algiers for organizing a friendly match with the Sahrawi team.

The Sahrawi team has also received invitations from five African federations, as well as from Asia and Latin America. These friendly matches will serve as a platform to raise awareness about the just Sahrawi cause and introduce the rights of the Sahrawi people. Football becomes a tool to show unity and sympathy with the occupied Sahrawi people.

In conclusion, the establishment of the Western Sahara national football team is a significant step towards promoting the Sahrawi cause and exposing the injustices faced by the Sahrawi people. The team’s participation in friendly matches with teams from around the world will serve as a powerful tool to raise awareness and garner support for their cause. The Sahrawi people deserve to be heard, and the Western Sahara team is determined to make their voices heard through the game of football.
