Algiers– The “Stellantis” group, owner of the Italian brand “Fiat”, will unveil, next Sunday, the range of cars it will produce in Algeria, several media reported on Wednesday.
The group will announce the official launch of the project. The first Fiat Algeria cars arrived, on Sunday March 12, at the port of Mostaganem. This is a lot of 120 vehicles of the Fiat 500 model.
The Franco-Italian-American group signed an agreement, last October, with the Ministry of Industry for the construction of a vehicle factory for the Italian Brand Fiat in Algeria. Under this framework agreement, the Italian manufacturer will launch in Algeria a project for the construction and production of FIAT brand vehicles and will develop the brand’s industrial activities and after-sales and spare parts services.
Located in Tafraoui in the wilaya of Oran, the Algerian Fiat factory should be delivered next August and the start of the marketing of the first cars that will come out of the unit is slated for the end of November, according to the Ministry of Industry.
