Youcef Cherfa Assumes Duties as Minister of Agriculture: A New Era of Progress and Prosperity

ALGIERS- Youcef Cherfa officially assumed his duties as the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development on Wednesday, following his appointment by President Abdelmadjid Tebboune the day before. Cherfa succeeds Mohamed Abdelhafid Henni, who recently left the government of Nadir Larbaoui.
The handover ceremony took place at the ministry’s headquarters, with the presence of sector executives and officials from affiliated institutions, as stated in a ministry press release. During the transition, the new minister expressed his gratitude to President Tebboune for the trust placed in him, emphasizing that this invaluable confidence would serve as a strong motivation to advance the agriculture and rural development sector.
Recognizing the sector as a cornerstone of progress, development, and prosperity, Youcef Cherfa underscored the need for collective efforts to address the significant challenges facing the agriculture industry. These efforts aim to ensure food security and fulfill the commitments made by the President to enhance the citizens’ quality of life. Cherfa also expressed his appreciation to the outgoing minister for his tireless dedication and contributions.
Addressing the sector’s executives, Cherfa expressed his conviction that they would spare no effort in achieving the set objectives and tirelessly working towards furthering the development process.
