This year, the young author unveiled his latest masterpiece, “Raihanin min Ghaza”, published by Dar Oussama. The novel sheds light on the harrowing struggles of children in Gaza amidst Zionist atrocities, while celebrating their unwavering resilience and adaptability in the face of adversity. Speaking of the book, he expressed his gratitude to the publisher, emphasizing its pivotal role in bringing his vision to life. “Through this novel, I wanted to highlight not only the pain but also the extraordinary strength of Palestinian children,” he said.

The Art of Writing for Children: A Balancing Act

Al-Moâtassim-Billah, who is a member of the Algerian Writers’ Union, shared the intricate process of crafting stories for children. “Writing for children is a unique challenge. You must step into their world, understand their needs, emotions, and perceptions, and translate these into narratives that are engaging and meaningful. The story must resonate deeply, whether it aims to entertain or teach a moral lesson,” he explained with wisdom beyond his years.

His profound understanding of children’s literature stems from a combination of natural talent, dedication, and an early start in writing. This year marks his second participation in SILA, further cementing his status as a rising star in Algerian literature.

Faith, Ambition, and a Message for the Future

A devout memorizer of ten parts of the Holy Quran, Al-Moâtassim-Billah attributes much of his eloquence and discipline to his spiritual foundation. “The Holy Quran elevates one’s character and sharpens their expression,” he noted, quoting, “He who learns the Holy Quran, his stature is exalted; he who learns the Hadith, his argument is strengthened; and he who masters the Arabic language, his character is refined.” His literary works often incorporate Islamic values, aiming to inspire young readers while instilling hope and perseverance.

Beyond literature, Al-Moâtassim-Billah’s ambitions extend into the realm of artificial intelligence. Fluent in programming languages, such as Python and HTML, he envisions becoming a leading figure in AI, dedicated to advancing his nation and serving humanity. “My dream is to shine like a star and bring light to my community,” he declared.
