Zionist escalation in Palestine: the silence of the international community deplored

Zionist forces have stepped up their escalation in the occupied Palestinian territories where two Palestinians were killed on Monday by occupation soldiers, a murder strongly condemned by the Palestinian government which deplored the “silence” and “indifference” of the international community in the face of the continuation of these heinous crimes.

According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, the two Palestinians were martyred by the bullets of the occupation soldiers near the Al-Jalazoun refugee camp, located just outside Ramallah in the center of the West Bank busy.

The Palestinian government reacted immediately: the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates “condemned in the strongest terms the heinous crime of execution committed by the Zionist occupation forces, resulting in the murder of Basel Basbous and Khaled Anbar of Al-Jalazoun camp, and injuring Salama Raafat of Birzeit city at dawn today, Monday, as they stormed the suburbs near Al-Jalazoun camp, in north of Ramallah,” reports the WAFA news agency.

For the ministry, it is a “crime of war and against humanity” in addition to the crimes of execution on the ground committed by the occupying forces against the Palestinians. He held the Zionist entity “fully and directly responsible for this crime”.

To this effect, Palestinian diplomacy stressed that the international community “should be ashamed of its silence and indifference to the bloodshed and suffering of the Palestinians and the continuing historical injustice inflicted upon them.”

For his part, the President of the Palestinian National Council Rawhi Fattouh also held, in a press release, the occupation authorities “fully responsible for the murder in cold blood of the two young Palestinians, and reiterated that “the silence of the international community towards the continued crimes of the occupation against our people encourages it to persist in committing them”.

More than 160 Palestinian martyrs mourned since January

The assassination on Monday of the two young Palestinians came the day after the publication by the National Assembly of the Families of Palestinian Martyrs of a press release in which it indicates that 165 Palestinians have been martyred since the beginning of 2022, under the bullets of the occupation.

In the statement, published by WAFA, Mohammed Sbeihat, Secretary General of the Assembly, specifies that “the number of Palestinians killed by bullets (by the forces of the Zionist entity) has increased by 66% this year compared to the same period last year in which 99 Palestinians were martyred, while 116 were killed in the year 2021”.

And to continue that since October 3, 2015 and until today, the number of Palestinian martyrs has reached 1,127, including 229 children and 71 women.

In addition to the assassinations by bullets, the occupation forces continue their desecration of the holy places by authorizing in particular the settlers to invade the Mosque of Al-Aqsa in occupied Al-Quds. The Zionist occupation tries to prevent Palestinians from practicing their right to worship there while the settlers are allowed to practice their Talmudic rituals freely.

Also in this context, the WAFA agency reported on Monday that hundreds of settlers desecrated the al-Ibrahimi mosque, located in the old city of El Khalil, and held a concert in its courtyards, with the support of the security forces. Zionist occupation.

Since 1967, the al-Ibrahimi Mosque, like all other Muslim holy sites in Palestine, has become a target for Zionist occupying forces and settlers.

Separately, dozens of Palestinians were asphyxiated on Sunday by tear gas fired by Zionist forces during clashes east of the occupied West Bank city of Nablus.

Thus, the Palestinian Minister of Health, Mai Al-Kaileh, urged the international community to intervene to protect the Palestinian people and international law, violated by the Zionist entity.

Faced with this dangerous escalation in Palestine, several countries and organizations have recently called on the international community to intervene in order to put an end to these attacks, in particular against the Al-Aqsa mosque, in parallel with a broad condemnation of the murder last week of the child 7-year-old Palestinian boy, Rayyan Suleiman, in the town of Teqoa in the occupied West Bank.
