ALGIERS– Heavy rainfall will lash, as of today, Friday, Feb 24th, 2023, in different central and western provinces of the country, according to a special weather report (BMS) issued by the services of the National Office of Meteorology.
For the province of Béchar, bulletin validity will run from 6h00 to 15h00. Rainfall accumulation will oscillate between 15-25 locally.
As for the following provinces: Tlemcen, Ain Temouchent, Oran, Mostaganem, Sidi Bel Abbes, Mascara, Relizane, Tiaret, Saïda, Naâma and El Bayadh, rainfall accumulation will oscillate between 20 and 40 mm during the validity of the BMS.
Bulletin validity: From 12:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
In addition, rainfall will batter the provinces of Chlef, Tipaza, Algiers, Boumerdes, Blida, Ain Defla, Médéa, Tissemsilt, Laghouat and Djelfa.
Rainfall accumulation will oscillate between 20 and 50 mm during the validity of the BMS.
Bulletin validity: From 6 p.m. to Saturday at 6 a.m.
Strong winds, sandstorms, vision difficulties through different southern provinces
Strong gusty winds are expected to blow, as of today, Friday, through the southern provinces of the country, indicated another special weather bulletin (BMS).
According to the same report, the concerned provinces are: Tindouf, Béni Abbès, Adrar, Timimoun, in Salah and El Meniaa.
Bulletin validity: From 09:00 till 21:00.
“Winds’ speed will oscillate between 60-70km / h, reaching 90 km / h with sandstorms, causing vision difficulties,” added the same source.
