Algerian Army Chief Saïd Chanegriha Conducts Working, Inspection Visit to 3rd Military Region: “Ready to Defend the Country in All Circumstances”

ALGIERS- Algerian Army Chief Saïd Chanegriha conducted a two-day working and inspection visit to the 3rd Military Region, as part of his regular engagements to monitor the combat readiness program for 2023/2024, according to a statement from the Ministry of National Defense.

The visit commenced in the operational sector of South Tindouf, where Chanegriha was received by Major General Mustapha Ismaili, the commander of the 3rd Military Region. During his visit, Chanegriha addressed all cadres and personnel of the region via videoconference, conveying greetings, esteem, and gratitude from the President of the Republic. He emphasized the importance of combat readiness as a gateway to development, availability, and operational performance. He highlighted the need for compliance with combat readiness requirements across all branches and specialties, underlining its significance in achieving operational effectiveness.

Chanegriha stressed the importance of the Algerian People’s National Army (ANP) being vigilant and adopting rational measures in response to regional and international developments. He emphasized the combination of combat capabilities and professionalism to address new threats effectively. The ANP has initiated comprehensive preparations, encompassing various components of the force, to define the future development of its combat force. This involves mobilizing human and material resources, continuous training, and executing various types of exercises. These efforts aim to instill faith in the national cause, loyalty to the martyrs’ oath, assimilation of patriotic values, and a sense of sacrifice for the defense of the country’s vital interests.

At the end of the first day, Chanegriha inaugurated a multipurpose hall and inspected units under the operational sector of South Tindouf, including the Djoundi circle. He provided directives and orientations to personnel, emphasizing the importance of continuing combat readiness activities to achieve excellence in all fields. Additionally, he highlighted the need to tighten measures against smuggling activities and organized crime in all its forms.
