Exodus of Royal Moroccan Army’ soldiers from all ranks and forces abroad!

ALGIERS-  Reports from various media outlets indicate that the Royal Moroccan Army is currently experiencing an unprecedented exodus of soldiers from all ranks and forces. This is primarily due to the deteriorating living conditions and the inability of the Makhzen Treasury to fulfill their wage obligations.

The situation has been further exacerbated by the increasing military operations carried out by the Forces of the Saharawi Peoples Liberation Army against the Moroccan occupation army in the occupied territories of Western Sahara.

According to reliable sources, the list of Moroccan deserters includes even senior officers, such as Commander Khaouni Mohamed, Salam Sahraoui, Al-Bilal Souih, Latef Sellali Cherif Issam, Merabet Gassem, Lhassani Merouan, Lekhai Adel, Lagherdek Mohamed, Adardour Lahcen, Djebba Mounir, Larbi Dan, Seddiki Ahmed, Chedjri Abdennour, Lheit Ismael, Moulay Ali, Fatri Nabil, Sidi Anouar, Drif Ameur, Dzidaz Abbès, Louareth Zoubir, Benameur Seddik, Meftah Abdelhalim, Al-Mohhamedi Achraf, and Afendi Mustapha.

Morocco’s recent violation of the 1991 cease-fire agreement has led to the brutal attack of Saharawis, displaying a severe disregard for human rights and international laws. In November 2020, an altercation broke out when the Moroccan army moved into the neutral zone in Guerguerat. During the following months, the Moroccan army increased its presence in the area and began harassing and attacking Saharawis protesting against the occupation.

The unilateral military escalation has made the situation more volatile, leading to an increase in confrontations, violence, and death among the Moroccan occupation army ranks, which resulted in the exodus of the Moroccan soldiers.
